Hybrid Photon Counting (HPC) detectors have transformed measurements in synchrotron and diffraction applications over the past 10 years. Now, HPC is available for industrial X-ray scanners and imaging systems. HPC detectors’ unique ability to acquire noise-free images with virtually unlimited dynamic range, plus their single-pixel point spread functions, helps provide best-in-class industrial imaging quality.
In addition, the technology was extended with additional thresholds per pixel (up to 4 in total). This gives the detector the ability to acquire images in up to four energy bands in a single exposure — enabling spectral methods such as material discrimination.
