Security X-ray Imaging
Security X-ray imaging has been the main method to detect concealed threats in baggage and cargo for many years. Conventional security X-ray imaging has been limited in its ability to differentiate threats, such as certain types of explosives, from benign materials. Because of these limitations, security checkpoints at airports are one of the most despised experiences in modern travel: liquids and laptops must be removed from bags, and carry-on luggage is searched and scanned again. This process results in long waiting times that inconveniences and delays passengers.
DECTRIS X-ray detectors help security scanning systems enhance their ability to discriminate between different materials, increasing security and reducing the burden on passengers. Our detectors offer:
- Up to 4 energy bins with industry leading energy resolution, improving the capability to separate threat from non-threat materials
- Capability to deal with the high X-ray fluxes required for high-speed scanning
