Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering (SAXS)

DECTRIS Hybrid Photon Counting (HPC) detectors are ideally suited to small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) laboratory instrumentation due to their high dynamic range, absence of readout noise and dark current, high sensitivity, and superior stability. Measuring extremely weak signals at high q-ranges requires long exposure times. With the complete absence of dark current, DECTRIS HPC detectors excel in delivering superior data for long exposure times. Thanks to high count rates, wide dynamic range, and a sharp point-spread function, strong and weak signals can be measured simultaneously and in close proximity.

Another advantage of DECTRIS HPC detectors in the laboratory: their high detection stability allows for the determination and subtraction of solvent scattering with superior accuracy — even for long exposure times. This exceptional stability results from single-photon counting in hybrid pixel technology and simple, yet highly stable water-cooling.
