Material Science

Typical material science experiments probe the dynamic response of a sample to environmental parameter changes such as pressure, temperature, etc. In other cases, scanning the sample with a small beam over large areas is required to investigate the material’s inhomogeneous regions.

DECTRIS detectors provide fast frame rates, plus the possibility to trigger the detector to external events. For example, our PILATUS3 X CdTe, with its high-energy HPC technology, is essential to get an optimal use of beamtime where smaller beam sizes and higher fluxes at higher energies are provided – e.g. by new sources.
