Angina Herrmann joins DECTRIS as Head of Marketing & Communications

Our Marketing & Sales team was happy to welcome Angina Herrmann as the new Head of Marketing & Communications in November 2018. Before joining us in Daettwil, Herrmann worked as the Head of Marketing at VirtaMed, a Schlieren-based developer of virtual-reality surgical simulators, so she is already familiar with how to lead marketing and communication at a new, successful Swiss high-tech company.

At DECTRIS, Herrmann feels like she is returning to her roots: she took her first academic steps as an aspiring physics student at the University of Helsinki, but eventually switched majors and finished her Master's degree in philosophy of science. By then, she had concluded that while others are more qualified to measure and calculate the fine structures of the world, she will be there to tell everyone about these findings.

After graduation, our native Finn worked in PR and communications in Helsinki, Finland, and she also did a two-year stint as a freelance journalist in Nanjing, China before moving to Switzerland. She is very passionate about writing, storytelling, and explaining difficult things in a simple and fun way. She is looking forward to working with DECTRIS partners and customers to share their success stories.
