Beijing and Shanghai Synchrotron User Meetings

Hot on the heels of the Hefei Light Source User Meeting, the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF) and the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) both held their user meetings in August.

The BSRF User Meeting took place in Yanji City from 14-15 Aug 2018. Successes highlighted during the meeting include research performed at the synchrotron and improved operation quality. The meeting also served to make a case for HEPS, the fourth-generation light source planned for Beijing whose construction will start in December.

Xi'an City hosted the SSRF User Meeting from 28-31 Aug 2018. SSRF has become one of the hotbeds of structural biology with an impressive publication record. It is also productive in X-ray diffraction and small-angle X-ray scattering.
