Thanks to their cadmium-telluride sensor, DECTRIS PILATUS3® R CdTe X-ray detectors are ideal for high-energy laboratory applications that require large-area detection. Direct detection in a hybrid-pixel detector results in sharper signals and better spatial resolution than is possible with scintillator-based detectors. CdTe X-ray detectors also provide more than 95% efficiency for Mo, Ag, and In radiation. Combined with noise-free, single-photon counting, these capabilities permit PILATUS3 R CdTe cameras to achieve new levels of sensitivity and accuracy in the laboratory.
Laboratory X-ray sources, particularly for hard X-rays, are much weaker than sources at a synchrotron, and longer exposure times are required. Thanks to the absence of dark current and readout noise, PILATUS3 R detectors outperform other technologies in this regard. Single-photon counting is also free of other sources of noise and inaccuracy that are intrinsic to charge-integrating CMOS detectors.
- Sensitive: these detectors provide more than 95% efficiency for Mo, Ag, and In radiation.
- Accurate: the detectors offer noise-free detection, even for long exposure times.
- Reliable: detector performance is always stable. Delivery terms are guaranteed, thanks to streamlined industrial production and top-notch support.
Detectors

PILATUS3 R CdTe 1M
This is the largest PILATUS3 detector for high-energy X-ray diffraction and scattering in the laboratory. It is a great solution if you are working in demanding, high-energy applications.

PILATUS3 R CdTe 300K
This detector brings the advantages of hybrid-pixel technology and direct detection in CdTe to high-energy applications, such as charge-density studies or CD-SAXS.

PILATUS3 R CdTe 300K-W
This detector features an active area of 254 x 34 mm2. It is ideal for scanning wide objects in imaging or non-destructive testing.
