Scientific exchange is what moves us. Whether you have a specific question on applications or detector features, or you would just like to chat, the solution is at hand. With a lack of meetings in the real space, we have opened a virtual realm for scientific interactions.
Our online platform enables you to establish a direct contact with the experts you commonly meet at conferences and workshops. Choose your topic and set up a face-to-face meeting with our staff.
If you have a specific application in mind and would like to discuss it on a peer-to-peer basis, our scientific team is here to listen. Tell us about your samples, sources or goals, and we will do our best to help you navigate through the world of X-ray and electron detectors. Feel free to share your collaborative ideas with us: a new project could be just a click away.
Dr. Andreas Förster is a trained macromolecular crystallographer, with an aptitude for chemical crystallography. He is an adept synchrotron user, and is keen to push lab diffractometers to limits. As a former X-ray lab manager, Andreas operates the DECTRIS application lab. Andreas’ trademarks are his racing bicycle and his sense of humor.
Dr. Dubravka Šišak Jung is a trained crystallographer. Her expertise is structural analysis using powder diffraction data, but she is also looking into PDF and XRD-CT applications. She is interested in collecting data at synchrotrons and lab diffractometers. Dubravka’s trademarks are her foldable bicycle and her enthusiasm for scientific and educational outreach.
Dr. Dubravka Šišak Jung & Dr. Nicolas Pilet aim to support you in your spectroscopic adventures: Dubravka has ideas on how to use standard detectors in WD-XRF and EXAFS/XANES applications, while Nicolas is ready to develop a custom-made solution to fit your needs, and brings more than 6 years experience in STXM as a beamline scientist.
Dr. Nicolas Pilet is a trained microscopist. He has expertise in SAXS, WAXS and GISAXS applications and long experience in ultra-high vacuum hardware design. Nicolas is a former beamline scientist and has long been working with laboratory SAXS equipment, so he is interested in many topics. Nicolas’ trademarks are French comics and creative approaches to solving problems.
Dr. Tilman Donath is an expert in X-ray imaging and tomography. Tilman has a long experience in using high-energy techniques at synchrotron sources and in laboratories. His extensive know-how in high-energy X-ray detectors includes characterization, calibrations and performance. Tilman’s trademarks are swimming and his analytical approach to projects.
Dr. Sacha De Carlo is an experienced electron microscopist. Sacha’s academic career revolved around molecular cryo-electron microscopy. He then switched to industry and worked with a major EM manufacturer and is now focusing on Life Sciences and Biological EM (MicroED & CryoEM). Sacha’s trademarks are his passion, dedication and fast response time to #makEMcount
Over the course of the years, we have had exciting projects in the fields of plasma physics, Laue diffraction, residual stress measurements, ptychography and coherent diffraction. We are looking forward to discussing these topics with you, or hearing about other applications or projects you may have in mind. For further information, please contact Dr. Dubravka Šišak Jung.
If you prefer to hear about the latest achievements of your colleagues and peers, please take a look at our webinar series. Scientists working at research institutes and industry will be presenting their results obtained by the following techniques: XRD-CT, EELS, macromolecular crystallography at high energies, XANES/XAFS, and PXRD for cultural heritage investigations.
The pace of development at DECTRIS is continuously high, and we are happy to provide you with new solutions for your synchrotron beamline or your lab. Contact our product managers responsible for synchrotron and laboratory X-ray detectors, and for electron detectors if you would like to discuss particular features request.
Dr. Stefan Brandstetter is a trained material scientist. He has been involved in X-ray detectors on all levels: design, usage and support. With his comprehensive knowledge on hardware and firmware, he plays an essential role in the creation of the most advanced detectors for synchrotron beamlines. Stefan’s trademarks are his freeride snowboard and his energy to get things done.
Dr. Marcus Müller is a trained crystallographer. He has an extensive know-how on X-ray detectors from design to their application in X-ray Diffraction techniques. Marcus is dedicated to providing optimal solutions to manufacturers and users of laboratory equipment. Marcus’ trademarks are his racing bicycle and his highly systematic approach to projects.
Pascal Hofer is a trained electrical engineer. He has been supporting various synchrotron sources and laboratory equipment manufacturers for almost a decade, and he knows the DECTRIS detector portfolio inside out. In 2017, Pascal helped establish a DECTRIS subsidiary in the United States, and has been running it ever since. Pascal’s trademarks are his short response time and his pragmatic approach to organization.
Dr. Nicolas Pilet is a trained microscopist. Using his long experience in X-ray detectors and ultra-high vacuum hardware design, he helps people build their dream systems. He sees plasma fusion as a source of sustainable energy and provides solutions to monitor plasmas. Nicolas’ trademarks are French comics and a creative approach to challenges.
Dr. Tilman Donath is an expert in X-ray imaging and tomography. His extensive know-how in high-energy X-ray detectors includes characterization, calibrations and performance. Tilman has a long experience in using high-energy techniques at synchrotron sources and in labs. Tilman’s trademarks are swimming and his analytical approach to projects.
