The EIGER R 1M is a versatile yet highly affordable detector for a variety of laboratory applications that packs 1 million hybrid pixels for direct detection into an active area of 77 by 80 mm2. Its small and extremely sharp point-spread function allows for a wide coverage of 2θ- or q-space with high resolution at close detector distances. As a matter of course, the EIGER R 1M features all other benefits of HPC technology such as the absence of readout noise, dark current or reset noise.
In macromolecular crystallography, EIGER R 1M makes the collection of higher-resolution data from crystals with larger unit cells possible. Thanks to the small pixel size, measurements can be performed at shorter detector distances without suffering from overlaps between Bragg spots.
