The PILATUS3 X 300K is the perfect detector for SAXS or coherent diffraction imaging measurements. With 487 times 619 pixels, it allows to cover large diffraction scattering angles while keeping a high reciprocal space resolution, which is beneficial for better sampling in these two techniques. For coherent diffraction imaging in particular, this enables recording data for imaging objects with high number of resolution elements. It further benefits from the outstanding stability of the water-cooled detector that allows determining and subtracting solvent scattering in SAXS measurements with best precision and accuracy, even for very long exposure times. Furthermore, one can exploit the optional vacuum compatibility of the detector for complete elimination of air scattering.
