This large-area X-ray detector, EIGER2 X CdTe 16M, is optimally suited for diffraction of strongly absorbing materials or high-energy macromolecular crystallography. With its surface area of 311 x 327 mm2, it is one of the largest commercially available high-energy photon-counting systems, alongside the EIGER2 XE CdTe 16M. This detector combines the best of Hybrid Photon Counting (HPC) technology with direct conversion in a cadmium-telluride sensor.
