Dynamic gain switching: Each 75 µm pixel automatically selects one of three calibrated gain stages according to the charge it collects, delivering single-photon sensitivity at low flux and a dynamic range of more than 10⁴ photons per pixel per frame at the top end. Charge integration has no instantaneous count-rate limit to plan around, making it the natural match for even the most intense reflections. A sustained 2 kHz readout means every frame in a time-resolved series is recorded, not just a short burst.
Seamless Integration: The DECTRIS JUNGFRAU 4M uses the same SIMPLON API, HDF5/NeXus data format, and control interface as the EIGER2, SELUN, and PILATUS4 families, so integration into a beamline already running DECTRIS hardware is straightforward. On-detector autosummation combines sub-frames on the fly, extending the effective dynamic range and delivering fully calibrated, ready-to-use images at the frame rate your experiment needs. The detector is delivered, supported, and maintained to DECTRIS production standard.
Versatile high-flux applications: The detector suits time-resolved and high-flux techniques, including serial synchrotron crystallography (SSX) and high-flux MX at kilohertz rates, time-resolved SAXS/WAXS, pump-probe experiments, and other measurements that demand the highest local intensities. Expect uncompromised dynamic range, full-frame speed, and DECTRIS reliability at your beamline.
-
Full-speed, full-frame: Continuous 2,000 fps across the full 4 MP frame - every frame captured, not a fixed burst.
-
High dynamic range for the highest flux: From single photons to over 10⁴ photons per pixel per frame with no instantaneous count-rate limit - the perfect complement to photon counting.
-
Photons, out of the box: Energy calibration, pedestal correction, flat-field, and autosummation convert raw signal to photons, so images are ready to be used - no offline calibration or image manipulation required.
-
Easy to integrate, reliable: Same SIMPLON API, HDF5/NeXus, and Streaming interfaces as EIGER2 and PILATUS4; delivered and supported to DECTRIS standards.
